The Broken Heart by John Ford

Written around 1635 this play is a classic of the Caroline era and John Ford is a near contemporary of William Shakespeare. The play is set in a society recovering from a nation threatening war and cautions against the foolishness of trying to control people - especially women - and especially women in love. Here, it's given a twist and is set in post-war Britain.
