Taking food as a starting point, Keep It Complex and Matatu Kitchen start conversations about Britain’s colonial history and its current political and social implications.
During Wandsworth Fringe they will run a drop-in workshop for people of all ages and backgrounds who would like to have conversations about food, identity and politics. They will experiment with different kinds of food and food histories to think about how we come to perceive something or somebody as “foreign†or “other.†We will have conversations about where our food or raw ingredients come from and what it means for Britain to be an island that imports over 50% of it’s food.
