'Wrestling For Pleasure' is a sexy, vibrant new play – a moving portrayal of a group of gay friends united by the love of wrestling, and a subtle exploration of what it means to be a strong man today.
Taking inspiration from ‘SEX / CRIME’ by Alexis Gregory, and plays such as 'The Inheritance', 'Wrestling for Pleasure' is a journey to the darker side of the ‘gay world’, the inherent dangers of online dating, and experiences within the gay community, whose members fight and fall out with each other, just as much as anyone else.
A 24-year-old lad meets a group of gay wrestlers for the first time and slowly realises he can make his fantasies come true. But, as his fantasies get darker, and he gets braver, the desire to find love grows.
Will he make the right choices and find someone to love, or live out his days exploring his fantasies until he reaches his limit – and maybe even goes beyond?
