Sugar & Spice is an intergenerational project celebrating the people, the places, and the spaces which helped shape Tooting High Street as we know it today. Our project sets out to discover why Tooting was voted one of the coolest places to live before the pandemic.
Over 10 months, residents aged from 5 - 80 have been collaborating to uncover Tooting's heritage.
Over the final weekend of the festival, we will launch a series of celebrations of their work - setting The Tooting Tapestry on tour, revealing The Tooting Fork - a cook book celebrating the areas food heritage and sharing details of a performance made by local young people.
