Henrietta produces her work instinctively, spontaneously and directly with paint and a mix of mediums, creating rifts, marks and an unconscious flow of written conversations, narratives embedded within. Exploring the relationship between us and landscapes, either inhabited in the mind or literal. Constantly sliding between the absent and present, the personnel and conceptual all binded torn stitched together using a variety of mediums.
Each painting has a relationship to another although they sometimes speak in different languages while sitting together in pairs or groups. Drawing on memory and experiences creating a sensory experience of memories emotive marks and the duality of absence and presence. The written word is embedded in all my work appears somewhat unconsciously and feeds as expressive marks or thoughts that get left behind.
