Beyond the Pandemic: cycle shorts film, photo and music
We have all been on a journey during this pandemic with its lockdowns, tragedies and hopes. Since March 2020 I have been cycling for 2-3 hours every day, and have missed cycling with my cycling group. To make these daily solo rides more interesting I bought a cycle helmet camera and started to film my journeys, recording the different seasons, and sights. So films do include the strange emptiness of London streets yet they are also testament to the value and importance of London parks, commons, and along the paths by the Thames. These short gentle rides help keep me fit.
After I had begun my cycle rides in March 2020 I began to compose and then add short original piano tracks, (some just 60 seconds long) or re-arrange existing melodies, and/or multi-tracks to these films. It seems important and appropriate this year to share these experiences for the 2021 Wandsworth Fringe. Several of the films are in Wandsworth, all are in and around London.
For this important annual festival there is one main 4 minute film.
There is also a link here to 17 other shorter films with music tracks. Apart from the main film there are no subtitles, simply gentle cycle riding and music. I hope you enjoy them as we all move forward beyond the pandemic.
