Reflections on Home: Alton Estate soundscape

Reflections on Home is a new art project by Alton Estate Artists in Residence Sara Heywood and Jane Watt. It has been created collaboratively as part of the Alton Estate regeneration and commissioned by Artscape, Redrow and Wandsworth Borough Council.

Sara and Jane have worked with many people - young and elderly residents, schools and community groups from around the Estate - to gather a vibrant mix of audio-visual material. Conducting interviews incorporating local archive imagery and sound recordings, the artists have developed an interactive sound installation that celebrates Alton Estate's rich history, past and present-day experiences.

Visit the soundscape installation on Downshire Field on the Alton Estate during Wandsworth Arts Fringe 2019 with events taking place over two weekends.

Interact with specially created listening devices that amplify voices, download a sound map app or go on a guided walk to hear a range of stories and sounds.
