‘Tooting Shorts’ is a series of short pieces including one where parents swap their delinquent son for a perfect replacement.
These will be staged readings; this is where a play is rehearsed and performed but without the actors necessarily having memorised all the words. For that reason, it is sometimes called a ‘script in hand performance’.
Tooting writer, Richard Fitchett, has had his work produced around the London Fringe and outside London in Brighton and Norwich. Locally he has had work produced at Theatre503 and the Stockwell Playhouse (aka LOST Theatre). One of his plays was recently described by Paul Vale (The Stage) as being ‘energetic and just a little bit weird’ – a description Richard enjoyed. Another of his plays is being produced in Brighton in June
