If you love great songwriting and storytelling, you’ll love this double EP launch from folk/country artist Will Purdue and alternative multi-instrumentalist Liza Bec.
Fresh from releasing wistful, bluesy duet ‘Paris’, Liza’s pure soprano and Will's brooding Cohen-esque baritone soar over their six piece band, transporting you to another time and place.
Liza and Will share a love of songs as stories. Will’s EP ‘Rumour & Confession’ is a collection of tales inspired by the great sixties folk singers, with a raw and direct lyrical honesty and power. Liza brings her own unique fusion style to ‘Beyond the Blonde’ – think Portishead with added recorder and sax. Her thrilling short story of the same name is included as an insert to the limited edition 12” vinyl EP.
They have collaborated with visual artists Catalina Velasquez G (Father John Misty), Dan Tombs (Gold Panda, James Holden), Anabel Hazeldine and David Ryder Prangley to create stunning artwork and AV for the launch.
'Hugely talented....(Liza’s) voice was truly unique, and when you added her abilities on the saxophone, keyboard and recorder to the mix.... you had a potent combination.' -TeamRock
'Joyous....ecstatic, burbling (recorder) improvisations' -The Guardian
