A train station, anywhere. Five people waiting for a train. Amongst the everyday banalities, the mind wanders to darker places. Plunging into the murky abyss that is man's consciousness of his own mortality, Astapovo is a surreal and blackly comic exploration of death.
Inspired by the existential musings of Sartre and Camus, this theatre performance examines our human response to mortality and its place alongside the trivial and mundane aspects of life. Come and bear witness to the mind as it grins in at the morbid banquet of death and reveals the fears, neuroses and torments that are buried deep within the soul.
