Hidden Heathbrook is the best kept secret of Wandsworth Arts Fringe, hosting two days of exciting outdoor art, music and theatre for the whole family.

Upon entering the park, Hidden Heathbrook will whisk your imagination away on an extraordinary adventure through theatre, circus, music, puppetry and art. Be amazed by stunning live performance, be entertained by delightful characters, explore out interactive workshops amongst the weird and wonderful. Bring a picnic, play some games, be entertained by stunning live performances and discover the fantastical world of Hidden Heathbrook. This weekend is one not to miss!

Saturday:

On Saturday there will be exciting performances and workshops from PifPaf, the Brooklyn Healer, Puppets with Guts, Spare Tyre and Pardip Kapil.

Puppets with Guts (who brought us Citizen Squid at last year’s festival) arrive at Hidden Heathbrook in style, with a large puppet rhino stampede spectacle! Create your very own magnificent cardboard rhino head and join the pandemonium! Don’t miss the rhino stampede at 4pm!

The Brooklyn Healer will also be on hand to spring clean your aura and cure your ailments in his New York taxi cab healing room! After receiving the healing gift from a dying chinese man, Charlie was forced to make an abrupt career change, from hit-man, for the Brooklyn Mafia, to Healer. Step inside Charlie’s faithful automobile, a veritable cabinet of miracles, where he puts on one of the world's earliest street performances: the miracle medicine show.

13.45-14.15/15.15-15.45 STEP BALL CHANGE by Molly Orange

A classic street show from a female perspective featuring classic vaudeville, musical saw, song, comedy fused with tap and vintage dance.

16.00-16.30 RAMPAGING RHINOS by Puppets with Guts

The biggest crash of rhinos are on the loose- An interactive big puppet mass movement spectacle!

Create your very own magnificent puppet cardboard rhino head and be a part of the rhino pandemonium!

12.30-15.30 BROOKYLN HEALER by Miraculous Theatre

Step inside Charlie’s automobile, where the street is transformed into a mobile therapy room, to experience a refreshingly funny and profound miracle.

12.30-14.30 POP-UP PARDIP by Pardip Kapil

Join artist Pardip Kapil for spontaneous creative happenings, as he transforms the park with his interactive disco installation.

14.00-16.00 HEATHBROOK STREET BAND WORKSHOP

Join in the music and learn how to make instruments out of only recycled materials with Spare Tyre.

Sunday:

Join us on Sunday for the BIG ART PICNIC and The Rig, an interactive musical installation, plus a whole host of other performances. Hikapee’s brand new show ‘Home’ weaves together slapstick comedy with breathtaking aerial acrobatics, to create a ‘house’ for you to explore. This weekend is one not to miss!

Live music from singer/songwriter Nsimba, who combines his unparalleled knowledge of Kicongo folkloric traditions and his awareness of city beats to create exhilarating performances.

13.30-14.00/15.30-16.00 HOME by Hikapee

A daring outdoor circus piece weaving slapstick comedy with breathtaking acrobatic and aerial performances, culminating in the creation of an interactive installation exploring the ideas of home and homelessness.

The Rig is a musical playground for children which uses interactive structures to have fun with music and sounds science experiments.

12.30-16.30 THE BIG ART PICNIC

Bring a blanket, bring a picnic and bring your friends for the third and biggest BIG ART PICNIC in collaboration with Heathbrook Primary School and Friends of Heathbrook Park. Enjoy the free art activities with the fabulous Great Giant Box animal workshop!
