About WAF2017

Welcome to
Wandsworth Arts Fringe
#WAF2017!

Delve into the treasure trove of creativity that is this year’s Wandsworth Arts Fringe – the annual arts and culture festival that thrills, moves and inspires audiences from across the city.

The two week festival is brought to you by Wandsworth Council and is the pinnacle of the brighter borough’s cultural calendar. It brings together more than 140 events, performances and productions in an array of nooks and crannies throughout Wandsworth - some indoor, some outdoor, and some truly unexpected.

Watch the borough come alive as a plethora of arts and culture bursts into the area. This is your chance to experience something truly different - street performances, comedy, spoken word, theatre, music, dance and everything in between. What is guaranteed is that you’ll experience something completely unique!

Thanks, as always, to our fantastic and diligent steering group, Enable Leisure and Culture, Fringe Producer Cath Mattos, as well as the ambitious team of young producers, all of whom have helped develop another wonderful Fringe event.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Cllr Jonathan Cook
Deputy Leader of Wandsworth Council

What is WAF?

Wandsworth Arts Fringe (WAF) will be shaking up South West London’s streets, venues and spaces for its eighth year in May 2017.

WAF is growing from strength to strength and 2017 will be our biggest and boldest festival yet. Take a risk and discover a new talent or a gem of a show and be part of the WAF magic.

We’ve got something to inspire and excite everyone. Take your pick from our innovative circus programme, street performances, an outdoor pavilion hosting activities at Pump House Gallery, as well as a programme of quirky Edinburgh previews in the arches below
Putney Bridge.

The festival hosts all types of performers, with an emphasis on artistic development. We welcome anyone who wants to try something new, and our packed schedule of events includes local artists and first time performances alongside some of the hottest artists and performers of the moment. We would love you to come out and support them this May.

The festival plays a leading role in nurturing local cultural vibrancy and driving community renewal. With activities spread across all corners of the borough, in venues of all kinds, both inside and outside, it offers something for everyone.
